AFTER completing the signing of Polish striker Patryk Klimala Celtic have been linked with another forward, Derek McInnes has reportedly convinced Matty Kennedy to join the Pittodrie club while Rangers have insisted that Borna Barisic will not be loaned out to Roma for the remainder of the season.
Celtic 'keeping tabs' on Poveda
Manchester City youngster Ivan Poveda, whose contract expires at the end of the season, is said to be on the radar of Celtic, according to the Scotsman. The 19-year-old is a former team-mate of Jeremie Frimpong and Leeds United are also said to be monitoring the forward's situation.
Mayo set for Jags loan
Rangers defender Lewis Mayo, who was at the club's winter training camp in Dubai, is set to join Partick Thistle on loan until the end of the season. The Daily Record believe that the centre-back, 19, will complete a loan move to Firhill within the next few days.
Charnley tips Celtic for nine-in-a-row
Former Thistle striker and lifelong Celtic fan Chic Charnley believes that the Parkhead club will seal a ninth successive title this season - because Neil Lennon has a better squad of players than Steven Gerrard. "Rangers have the bit between their teeth after the last two derbies, but Celtic have a stronger squad and they have more experience of getting over the line," he said.
'Barisic will not leave in January'
Rangers' Borna Barisic will not be allowed to leave the club this month, according to the Daily Record, with Serie A pair Roma and Napoli said to be monitoring the Croatian internationalist. Roma were reportedly keen on completing a six-month loan deal for the left-back but Rangers have told the Record that Barisic will not leave Ibrox this transfer window.
Kennedy opts for Aberdeen move
St Johnstone winger Matty Kennedy is set to complete a move to Aberdeen, according to reports in the Scottish Sun. The 25-year-old, who was also wanted by Hearts, is about to sign a pre-contract deal to join the club in the summer although Derek McInnes is said to be hopeful of bringing Kennedy to Pittodrie this month.
'Morelos is punished by refs because of his reputation'
Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is now being punished by referees because of his reputation, and not necessarily the offences he commits on the park, according to Chic Charnley. The former Thistle striker said: “Morelos is a good player,” he said. “He brings a lot of it on himself and I know because there was nobody worse for that than me. Then the referees are right on him. But some of the things he shouldn’t be getting done for he is getting done for."
Bayo set for loan move?
Celtic's Ivorian striker Vakoun Bayo has handed in a request to be loaned out this month, report the Scottish Sun. The 23-year-old, who has made 13 appearances since joining the club last January, is apparently attracting interest from Dutch abnd Swiss clubs - but Bayo would not rule out a move to another Premiership side.
