CAMMY PALMER admits the support of former Ibrox duo Rob Kiernan and Harry Forrester has been invaluable in helping him settle into life in California.

The midfielder made the switch to Orange County last month alongside Danny Finlayson and Matthew Shiels as part of a strategic partnership between Irvine and Ibrox.

Kiernan and Forrester have also headed Stateside after to continue their careers and all five have been keeping up to date with the Light Blues's fortunes this season.

Palmer said: "That was a connection that made things a wee bit easier and it was helpful to know those guys.

"We met Rob before coming over here when we were getting our Visas and we are all in a new situation together. We have all experienced Rangers, we know what that is like. They have been great in giving us advice and helping us out and really just being alongside us.

"We keep up with the games and get to watch them on streams or on the TV.

"It is hard sometimes because the games have been in the middle of the night or early in the morning so we can’t watch them all. But we do our best to try and support the team."
