While there is no live football amid the coronavirus pandemic, BT Sport will be giving Celtic fans the chance to relive some their greatest Champions League nights from the past 20 years.
The schedule dedicates two hours to Celtic in Europe and will showcase some of the finest nights in recent Celtic history including their famous 2-1 win against Barcelona.
- 19:00 - 2001/02 UEFA Champions League: Celtic 4-3 Juventus – a heroic victory over Juventus was not enough to see Celtic qualify for the second group stage but will be remembered for an inspiring performance from veteran Lubo Moravcik and a cracking brace from Chris Sutton
- 19:30 - 2007/08 UEFA Champions League: Celtic 2-1 AC Milan – Scott Mcdonald’s 90th-minute winner sees the Hoops claim a famous scalp in the form of reigning European champions AC Milan and puts them on track to qualify for the knockout stages
- 20:00 - 2012/13 UEFA Champions League: Celtic 2-1 Barcelona – Celtic celebrate their 125th anniversary in style with a win over Barcelona on their own turf, thanks to goals from Victor Wanyama and teenager Tony Watt
- 20:30 - 2006/07 UEFA Champions League: Celtic 1-0 Man Utd – The Bhoys edge through to the knockout stages after Shunsuke Nakamura’s curling freekick and a last-minute penalty save from Artur Boruc.
The channel is airing a European Classics show starting at 7pm, Sunday (3rd May) on BT Sport 1.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
