ALLY McCOIST has questioned the integrity of Tuesday’s SPFL EGM that saw Rangers’ resolution booted out by member clubs.

The Ibrox side put forward a claim for a second independent inquiry into the league governing body following the vote to terminate the Scottish football season early.

But with only 13 clubs from 42 voting in favour, it was ruled that a further probe into the SPFL was not necessary.

Rangers hero McCoist believes the vote cannot be deemed a “democracy” due to the league board including seven club representatives, but he admits the outcome still shows that some have lost faith in Neil Doncaster and co.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "How many members of the SPFL board would have voted? Six or seven?

"So my point would be that those on the board would have clearly voted with the SPFL so I'm not counting their votes to tell you the truth.

"So for Neil Doncaster to say 'It's a democracy’, and we should move on...

"What I would suggest is, it's by far and away, hardly a vote of confidence to have more than a third of clubs looking to have another inquiry into the SPFL.

"I'm not sure it's over and done with. I think in the interest of Scottish football, I honestly believe there should have been an EGM for the SPFL to clear themselves.

"It has been extremely poor management at best."
