WES FODERINGHAM has bid an emotional farewell to Rangers after the club announced he would be leaving Ibrox when his contract expires.
The goalkeeper, who made a total of 143 appearances for the Gers, took to Instagram to reminisce about his time in Govan.
Posting a montage of his greatest moments, he wrote:Â "An incredible journey and an unforgettable five years.
"But now is the time to move on.
"All the best in the future. Once a Ger, always a Ger."
Andy Halliday, Jon Flanagan, Jason Holt, Jordan Rossiter and Jak Alnwick will also be leaving the Ibrox club when their contracts expire this summer.
Gers' director of football Ross Wilon added: "Andy, Wes and Jon have applied themselves excellently during my time here and I wish them nothing but the best in their next chapter. I am sure the fans will join me in thanking them for their contributions to Rangers.â
And boss Steven Gerrard said: âI want to recognise the contribution of the players who are leaving our squad at the end of this season.
âThere is a lot more that people contribute to, away from the fixtures each weekend and I commend each of the departing players for what they have given to us day in and day out. Work continues on a daily basis in planning and preparation for next season.â
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.Â
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.Â
That is invaluable.Â
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalistâs job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
