Fraser Forster has come out on top in the battle of the goalkeepers in the Scottish Premiership - narrowly beating Allan McGregor in an SPFL poll.

The Celtic goalie earned 47 percent of the vote from a whopping 155,000 supporters around the country as the Premiership goalkeeper of the season. The Englishman managed 14 clean sheets from 28 matches.

McGregor, meanwhile, earned the same number of shutouts despite playing one game less than his rival. The Rangers stopper missed out with 44 percent of the vote.

The other two competitors making up the four candidates were Motherwell's Mark Gillespie who took just four percent of the vote while Aberdeen's Joe Lewis managed two percent.

Forster solidified his spot in the team with big performances in the league as well as standout showings in the Betfred Cup final and against Lazio in the Europa League.

It comes as the Hoops prepare to make a move to keep Forster at Parkhead beyond the end of the current summer.
