RANGERS have extended the loan deal of Hibs striker Florian Kamberi, according to reports.

It is understood the Ibrox club want the Swiss-born striker for their upcoming Europa League clash with Bayer Leverkusen.

Kamberi joined Rangers in January and impressed during limited game time before Scottish football was halted due to the coronavirus crisis.

The Sunday Post now report that Steven Gerrard has struck a deal with Hibs to extend the 25-year-old's contract.

It is unlikely that Kamberi will play for Hibs after describing his move to Rangers in January as a "dream", which didn't go down well with the Easter Road faithful.

Kamberi, will now link-up with the Rangers squad as they are put through their paces ahead of the new season.

The length of loan deal is not specified in the article, but Hibs are aiming to reduce their wage bill with the Covid-19 pandemic taking its toll on the club.

Rangers will take on Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen in the second leg of their Europa league last 16 tie on August 6 at the Bayer Arena.
