JAKE HASTIE has rejoined Motherwell in a loan deal from Rangers.

Hastie joined from The Steelmen in 2019 before heading out on-loan to Rotherham United last season.

Now he will link back up with Stephen Robinson's side ahead of the new campaign starting on August 1.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be back,” said Hastie, who returns subject to clearance.

“I’ve been with Motherwell since I was nine years old. A year away has helped me grow even more as a player, but it’s also made me appreciate what the club does for me to help me develop.

“I’m fit and ready to go. I want to pick up where we left off just over a year ago and make an impact on the team scoring goals.”

“We need someone strong and direct in the wide areas,” said manager Stephen Robinson.

“Jake provides us with that. We know exactly what he’s capable of and we are looking forward to working with him again.”

Rangers sporting director, Ross Wilson commented: “Jake needs to keep playing first team football and continue his development. We wanted that learning to come in the Scottish Premiership this season.

“Our discussions with Motherwell have been positive and we share the same goal to make this loan experience a strong one .”
