Gary McAllister insists Alfredo Morelos should be fully focused on the upcoming season at Rangers despite more speculation linking him with a move away from Ibrox.

The Colombian striker continues to draw admirers after three impressive campaigns in Glasgow where he has scored 77 goals in 138 games for the club in all competitions. Recent reports have suggested mega-rich Qatar outfit Al-Duhail are keen on the attacker as well as Napoli. English Premier League side Everton have also been mentioned as potential suitors.

Assistant manager McAllister, though, believes the player has returned to training ahead of the new term with a focused mind on winning matches.

And although the Scotland legend accepts every player has a price, he expects Morelos to be ready - beginning with what is expected to be an early Europa League clash against Bayer Leverkusen, in a competition he has thrived in as a Gers player. "Alfredo is got to be fully aware that he's a Rangers player," McAllister said.

"He's under contract here and is part of the team and part of the squad. Our only intention is to get this guy up to speed like every other player at the club going into the start of the season with the fixtures announced on Monday. We've got the game against Leverkusen coming in quite quickly and all the first-team squad are working towards that.

"All the speculation is not going to go away but I think that any player at any club across the entire globe, when there's a bid arrive that the club thinks is the right bid, that player tends to go. But Alfredo is a Rangers player."
