KRIS BOYD has urged Rangers to find consistency next season to ultimately stop Celtic from landing 10-in-a-row.
Last season Gers mounted a title challenge up until the winter break, before Celtic pulled away following a number of shock results for Steven Gerrard's side.
And Boyd admits the Light Blues need to find consistency throughout the whole campaign if they want to land the title.
Speaking to Sky, he said: “The consistency from both Old Firm clubs last year was unbelievable until the game in December before the split.
“It is really important Rangers can continue that for the full season.
“Consistency has been their problem and there’s been drops in form.
“It might be down to loss of confidence after the winter break.
“But they won’t have that this season as the winter break isn’t there.
“Hopefully for everyone connected with Scottish football we can have a title challenge and Rangers pushing Celtic all the way.
“There is quality in the Rangers dressing room and there is no doubt when they face Celtic they can win the games.
“But sometimes Rangers need to find a way to grind out results like they did at the start of last season.
“After the break it never really happened.
“You have to credit Celtic as they were unbelievable after the break and they blew everyone away.
“It is great football is finally back as it has been a long time coming.”
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
