Scott Bain 6 Did everything that was asked for him and couldn’t have done much for Scott Martin’s goal.
Jeremie Frimpong 8 Was a menace throughout and typically energetic. Played a crucial role in the first goal with his run from deep and converted the second from close range.
Kris Ajer 6 Fairly quiet afternoon for the Norwegian who didn’t have much to do.
Christopher Jullien 7 Similar to Ajer, although was a constant threat at set pieces. Almost got on the scoresheet himself and teed up Klimala for Celtic’s fifth.
Greg Taylor 9 Superb display from the former Kilmarnock man. Consistently available in dangerous areas and set up both Celtic goals in the first half with inviting balls across the face of goal.
Scott Brown 6 Quiet afternoon for the Celtic captain who did what he does best. Sat at the base of midfield, recycled possession and was always willing to try and win the ball back when his side lost it.
Callum McGregor 7 Composed display from the Scotland internationalist, who focused on linking the midfield and attack.
Ryan Christie 6 Looked a threat and went close on a couple of occasions and did well to find pockets of space in the final third.
James Forrest 7 Quiet in the first half but got his assist in the second after being released down the right wing.
Mouhamed Elyounoussi 6 Clever dummy was a key factor in Celtic’s second but contributed little else.
Odsonne Edouard 10 Scored a hat-trick but his all-round play was typically classy. Happy to drop deep and build attacks as well as finish them off.
Substitutes
Olivier Ntcham (for Elyounoussi, 70) 6 Came on to shore up the midfield and did just that.
Karamoko Dembele (for Christie, 86) N/A
Hatem Abd Elhamed (for Frimpong, 86) N/A
Patryck Klimala (for Edouard, 86) 6 Scored his first Celtic goal with a neat finish late on.
HAMILTON
Ryan Fulton 6 Couldn’t do much to deny Celtic. Was a little suspect for Celtic’s fourth but produced a superb stop to deny Forrest.
Hakeem Odoffin 5 Struggled with Taylor’s overlapping runs but did a decent enough job of shackling Elyounoussi. Cleared a McGregor header off the line in the second half.
Scott McMann 6 Did well in the first half and imposed himself well early on but flagged as the game progressed.
Jamie Hamilton 5 Tough game for the promising centre-back. Struggled to deal with Celtic’s incision in the final third.
Shaun Want 6 Similar to McMann; started well, looked imposing at times but had to deal with wave after wave of Celtic attack.
Ross Callachan 5 Combative display from the midfielder who wasn’t afraid to get stuck in. Couple of nice passes to his team-mates and was rightly booked for a silly tackle on Edouard.
Scott Martin 6 Another who started brightly enough but faded as time wore on. Got a bit of luck with his goal and was shown a yellow after cynically scything down Frimpong.
Ronan Hughes 5 Quiet afternoon for the midfielder, whose afternoon was brought to an end in the first half after picking up a knock.
Lewis Smith 6 Looked bright at times but struggled to impose himself on the game on the right wing.
Andy Winter 5 Tested Bain with a powerful effort in the first half but did little else.
David Moyo 6 Was a pest in the first half and caused the Celtic defence a few problems but suffered from a lack of service.
Substitutes
Marios Ogkmpoe (for Hughes, 41) 6 Spurned a header from a corner in the second half and looked like Accies’ most likely route to goal.
Ciaran McKenna (for Odoffin, 70) N/A Had little impact
Charlie Trafford (for Callachan, 70) N/A Had little impact
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
