THE draw for the first qualifying round of the Europa League has taken place in Nyon, Switzerland as Scotland's two representatives learned their opponents.

Aberdeen and Motherwell were both seeded for the draw while Rangers - who finished last season as Premiership runners-up - will enter the competition at the next stage.

Both the Steelmen and the Dons will host their one-legged ties when their European campaigns get under way on August 27.

Derek McInnes' side will face the winner of the preliminary tie between Faroese NSI Runavik and Welsh side Barry Town United.

Motherwell, meanwhile, will face either Northern Irish outfit Glentoran or the Faroe Islands' HB Torshavn.

Both of the preliminary qualifiers will take place on August 20.
