SIR ROD STEWART has sent a personal plea to Celtic target Shane Duffy urging him to move to Parkhead.

The Hoops-daft rocker posted a picture of himself holding up a message to the Brighton defender on his Instagram.

The plea read: "C'mon Shane you know it is the right thing to do."

Sir Rod tagged both Duffy and the official Celtic page in the post and it has already racked up over 6,000 likes.

We told earlier how Duffy's cryptic Instagram post this morning got Celtic fans talking.

The Ireland international posted a photo of a plane wing on his story with the caption 'Let's go'.

Fans were quick to search for Scotland bound flights from London and some spotted a London Heathrow flight which was headed for Glasgow.

Others took a more cautious approach after they were alerted that Brighton are set for a pre-season training camp in Dundee this week.

West Ham, who Duffy has also been linked with this summer, are also heading for Scottish soil as they continue their preparations for the upcoming Premier League season.

Duffy's brother also weighed in on the speculation surrounding his sibling as he posted a picture of the Celtic badge on his Instagram story.

Neil Lennon confirmed Celtic's interest in Duffy last week saying: "I think there's common knowledge that there has been interest that's been expressed."
