Kris Ajer's representatives have asked Celtic how much it would take for him to be allowed to leave the club.

The Norwegian defender has been linked with European heavyweights and English Premier League clubs including AC Milan, Sevilla, Leicester and West Brom in recent times. And Herald and Times Sport understands a tentative request has been made for his valuation from Celtic before he would be permitted to move on.

It is understood that no fee was provided for the player. Olivier Ntcham is another player believed to have made inquiries as to his own valuation ahead of any potential switch.

It comes as manager Neil Lennon slaughtered some wantaway stars for their lack of commitment as his side crashed out the Champions League qualifiers with a dismal 2-1 home defeat to Ferencvaros last night.

"There are some players who may want to leave and have made inroads into that in the last six months or so," Lennon said. "If they are making waves to leave the club they are obviously not committed. I have just put this out there because it has been bugging me for a long, long time. If they don’t want to be here we have to do something."

Lennon was furious with his players after the defeat which makes it three years now where the Hoops have failed to qualify for the Champions League group stage.

We told recently how AC Milan sporting director Paolo Maldini revealed the Serie A giants planned on 'laying out their transfer strategy' as they plot a move for Ajer, 22.
