The Columbian was injured by the challenge which appeared to leave a deep wound, but it drew no punishment from referee Kevin Clancy.

Steven Gerrard hinted after the game it would have been interesting to see whether there would have been a punishment if Morelos had been the one making the challenge.

The panel did not reach a unanimous descision that a red card should have been rewarded for the tackle on Saturday. Compliance officer Clare Whyte had until 3pm today to lodge a notice of complaint about the incident.

Morelos could miss Rangers' Europa League tie this week, as the injury list mounts for Steven Gerrard.
