Leigh Griffiths will not feature for Celtic tomorrow evening against St Mirren despite overcoming a calf strain.

The Hoops striker is back in training with his teammates after a lengthy lay-off and manager Neil Lennon recently hinted he could be back in time for the Paisley fixture.

However the Northern Irishman has now confirmed his striker will not be in the matchday squad at the Simple Digital Arena as he is not close enough to game fitness.

"He's fit, yeah, but he's not in the squad because he's not trained or played enough football yet," Lennon said. "It's just a lack of training and game time stopping him being in the squad at the minute.

"In terms of the calf strain it looks like he's over the worst of that now. He's still training and topping up his fitness work at the minute."
