JON MCLAUGHLIN 6
Conceded the first goals of his Ibrox career. Could do little about either and made a couple of solid stops.
JAMES TAVERNIER 6
Kept honest defensively by the Hibs attack. Final ball could have been better at the other end.
CONNOR GOLDSON 6
Has deserved the plaudits for Rangers’ defensive resolve but made costly mistakes at the Hibs goals here.
FILIP HELANDER 6
Much like his defensive partner, there were poor errors that overshadowed a largely decent display.
BORNA BARISIC 6
Caught out in the build-up the opener. Grew into the game as an attacking threat.
STEVEN DAVIS 6
Wasn’t incisive enough on the ball in the first half. Better after the break but largely frustrating.
SCOTT ARFIELD 8
The best of the midfield three by a distance. Deserved his goal and should have had a second in an excellent showing.
GLEN KAMARA 5
Uncharacteristically poor in possession. A rare off day for the normally reliable midfielder.
IANIS HAGI 5
Lovely play in the build-up to Arfield’s goal was the highlight. Didn’t offer anywhere near enough overall on a low-key afternoon.
RYAN KENT 7
Rangers’ most potent threat once again as he always looked for the ball to hurt Hibs. Set up Morelos to make it 1-1.
ALFREDO MORELOS 7
Didn’t get the service that he needed on a day of few chances. Terrific finish pulled Rangers level.
Substitutes:
JERMAIN DEFOE 4
(for Hagi 74) Looked sharp in the closing stages but no goal to save Rangers.
CEDRIC ITTEN 2
(for Kamara 84) Couldn’t net his first Gers goal to win it off the bench.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
