STEVEN GERRARD will demand a Europa League focus when Rangers return to Premiership action against Motherwell.
The Light Blues were 4-0 winners over Willem II in midweek as they booked their place in the play-off round against Galatasaray.
Now they will face a Steelmen side that lost their third qualifying round clash to Hapoel Be'er Sheva on the same night.
Rangers dropped two points on their last league outing away to Hibernian and Gerrard knows they will be in for a tough task against Stephen Robinson's side.
He said: "We’re looking for focus, similar to what we showed on Thursday.
"We have always had a difficult challenge down at Motherwell, Stephen has his team fired up.
"They are a big team in terms of profile and they will come and give us a right physical challenge.
"It’s a game we are looking forward to but we have to be right from a mental point of view, make sure we recover well.
"It’s good for us that Motherwell have had a similar week in terms of what they have had to put into their week with the travel and it seems like they have had a tough game.
"It’s Even Stevens if you like from the kick-off, there are certainly no excuses from where we are.
"We have to be prepared to put in a good performance because we have to try to take maximum points."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
