RANGERS got their Europa League campaign off to a winning start against Standard Liege last Thursday and then ended a positive week on a high note as Livingston were beaten in the Premiership.
Steven Gerrard’s side return to continental competition at Ibrox when they host Lech Poznan in their second Group D clash and the Gers have a chance to move six points ahead of the Poles. In the other fixture, Standard make the trip to Benfica.
Here, we look at how Rangers’ Europa League rivals fared in their respective domestic competitions at the weekend.
LECH POZNAN
It has been a difficult start to the Ekstraklasa campaign for Lech and they needed a late equaliser to salvage a point at home to Cracovia on Sunday. Pelle van Amersfoort put the visitors ahead on the half hour mark but Cracovia – who are 13th in the standings – couldn’t hold on for victory.
Mohammad Awad netted with five minutes remaining to ensure Lech avoided defeat ahead of their trip to Ibrox on Thursday night. The Poles now have just nine points from seven league outings.

STANDARD LIEGE
Standard confirmed on Saturday evening that they had been hit by further Coronavirus cases in the aftermath of their defeat to Rangers and their troubles continued as they returned to domestic duty.
Goals in either half from Duckens Nazon and Steve De Ridder were enough to clinch victory for St.Truiden as Philippe Montanier’s side lost for the second time in the Jupiler League this term.

BENFICA
The Primeira Liga leaders have a perfect record so far this term and will look to make it five wins from five when they host Belenenses on Monday evening. The match at the Estádio da Luz kicks off at 8.15pm.
