Arsenal fans were full of praise for Kieran Tierney yesterday evening despite being on the losing end to Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City in the Premier League.
The former Celtic left-back was trending on social media for hours after putting in a stellar performance at the Emirates. The Scotland cap was one of the Gunners' only shining lights as they lost out to a late Jamie Vardy goal in a 1-0 defeat.
Tierney's accurate deliveries from wide areas and impressive crossing ability was particularly highlighted - with striker Alexander Lacazette coming in for some criticism for not attacking them and taking advantage.
Felt really sorry for Tierney yesterday, in that first half. Produced three excellent crosses after good distribution for Luiz. If Lacazette takes his chance then everyone would be talking about his performance in a positive way.

Giroud would be having a field day with these Tierney crosses.

Imagine Dominic Calvert-Lewandowski on the end of these balls Tierney’s putting in

Tierney should only ever be compared to Robertson in the PL. Most complete left back in football by a mile. Total football. Does everything a player in his position can.

Kieran Tierney’s crosses are the best i’ve seen for years. What a player.

Kieran Tierney created more chances than our entire midfield out together, seemed like only one getting the ball into the box!

Kieran Tierney is our best player, the man is so consistent almost like a machine

Tierney was brought off for Eddie Nketiah moments after Arsenal went a goal behind, much to the disappointment of supporters.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
