CELTIC's fixture against Dundee United, originally scheduled to take place at 7:45pm on Wednesday December 30, has been brought forward following a request from both clubs.

The SPFL confirmed on Thursday afternoon that the game will now go ahead on the same day but with the earlier kick-off time of 3pm following a request from the Premiership champions and the Tannadice club.

Rangers' match against St Mirren, which was also slated for a late kick-off on the same day, was brought forward to a 3pm start earlier this week.

It means that the two rivals will now have the same amount of time to prepare for what's shaping up to be a powderkeg Old Firm derby on Saturday 2 January.
