Steven Gerrard hopes to keep Allan McGregor and Leon Balogun beyond their current deals.

Both players are out of contract in the summer but the manager is hopeful he can secure new deals for the pair.

With Rangers currently 19 points clear at the top of the table, Gerrard admits now is not the right time to be focused on anything other than the title race.

But when the time comes, he says the club will sit down with the two stars to try and thrash out their futures.

"All contract chat will remain private between players and the club once they get up and running," he said. "At the right time, we will sit down with Allan McGregor and see what he wants to do in terms of his own future. Leon Balogun is also someone we want to keep hold off."

McGregor, at 38-years-old earned man of the match against Celtic in his side's 1-0 win over the Hoops at Ibrox last week.
