Neil Lennon insists he was right to criticise double-standards over coronavirus protocols after a host of clubs snapped back at the Celtic boss.

The Celtic manager confirmed another of his players had tested positive for Covid-19 as he angrily bemoaned criticism of the club’s controversial trip to Dubai earlier this week.

Lennon missed recent draws against Hibernian and Livingston as he was self-isolating following the mid-season training camp as a number of his players also missed out.

The Hoops boss then claimed that some Scottish Premiership's clubs have not been following the strict protocols in place. And that guidelines have been perhaps made even more strict for the Glasgow giants. And when asked by the BBC if he stood by his comments, the Northern Irishman said: "I'm giving my opinion on what I saw. The protocols are in place, as far as we're concerned, to a different standard from other teams. We've had to drive to the game tonight."

Probed further by Kenny McIntyre of the BBC, who asked are [other clubs] wrong to refute allegations about changing facilities at football grounds, Lennon replied: "In my opinion, yeah. Absolutely."

The prickly interview with Lennon had the manager countless times urge the BBC man to 'move on' from the midweek interview.

We told how Hamilton hit out at Lennon and insisted they had followed protocols while St Johnstone also had their say.
