STEVEN GERRARD insists Alfredo Morelos shouldn't be judged on goals alone as he detailed the evolution of the striker this season.
Morelos scored his 12th goal of the campaign in the win over Dundee United on Sunday as Rangers took another step towards the Premiership title with victory at Ibrox.

Now he will look to fire them into the last 16 of the Europa League as Gerrard's side attempt to convert their dramatic 4-3 first leg lead into another impressive scalp on the continent.
Morelos - who broke Ally McCoist's European scoring record earlier in the campaign - was a stand-out performer in Belgium seven days ago and regularly saves his best showings for this stage.
Gerrard said: "When you are talking about a talent like Alfredo, people automatically just judge him on goals.

"But as his manager who works with him every day, I think he has evolved in the time he has been here.
"We have tried to support him and guide him, because people forget how old he was when we arrived and how old he is now. He is still at a stage in his career where he can get better, physically, mentally, tactically and technically.
"There are still big compartments of his game that he can improve. That’s the exciting thing.

"But there is no doubt he has evolved. He has improved his link-up play, improved tactically without the ball in terms of what the team needs and demands from him.
"He’s been an absolute pleasure to work with – the majority of the time. We all know the journey we have been on with Alfredo, that goes without saying.
"But one thing you can’t do is just judge him on goals because he has an awful lot more in his locker than just being a goalscorer."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
