STEVEN GERRARD insists he isn't worried about the prospect of a dugout ban after hitting out at referee John Beaton for his controversial penalty call during the win over Livingston.

The Rangers boss could face a Scottish FA suspension after being sent off by Beaton for questioning the decision that saw him deny Alfredo Morelos a spot kick and book the striker for diving.

Morelos would later score the goal that moved Rangers within four points of the title this term and Gerrard was furious with the performance of the officials on a controversial night at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

Gerrard said: “It’s a blatant penalty, it’s a stonewaller. I’m someone who wants to support officials because we are all human and we will make a mistake.

“But what I can’t stand for at this level is three people making the same mistake. They all had clear views of it. I could see it and I’m the furthest away.

“There are three officials at this level who all got it wrong together - I can’t have that. I asked for an explanation and he refused to speak to me.

“I don’t want to go there (whether Morelos is treated differently) to be honest with you. I got into trouble answering a similar question. I don’t want to talk about the official any more.

“You are talking about officials at a top level of the game. I’ll go with one making a mistake, because we are all human.

"But I can’t have it when three make the same mistake and are all looking at the incident. That’s unfair.

“I’m not worried [about a ban]. I’m looking forward to beating St Mirren. That’s my only worry. If someone wants to stop me being on the side of a pitch, don’t worry - I’ll celebrate when the time comes."
