Steve Clarke has called on his Scotland squad to make sure they are returning regularly to international tournaments ahead of their World Cup qualifying opener on Thursday night.
Following the high of qualifying for the Euros, it is undoubted that the Scotland players will be fully behind the managers' drive to get Scotland back competing regularly at tournament level.
Their journey to the World Cup kicks-off against Austria at Hampden on Thursday night.
Scotland will face a full-strength Austria side after Germany eased restrictions on travel to the UK.
The visitors were set to be without 19 players because of requirements to quarantine on return to Germany from Scotland but a decision late on Friday evening ensured Austria will have the likes of Bayern Munich defender David Alaba available.
Scotland boss Clarke said: “Our squad is focused completely on the World Cup games because they are the most important ones.
“We have said almost since we qualified for the Euros that we don’t want to be one-tournament wonders. We want to have a continued period of success.
“That starts tomorrow night against Austria at Hampden.”
International team selection is always a hot topic, and with midfield mainstay Ryan Jack out through injury and Southampton striker Ché Adams in for his first experience of international football, there may be selection headaches for Clarke.
He added: “In my head, I know the team.”
