Reports in Spain have linked Rangers flop Umar Sadiq with a stunning €60million transfer to European heavyweights Bayern Munich.
The former Roma man spent time on loan at Ibrox in 2018, but after a nightmare spell, where he played just one game under Steven Gerrard, his loan deal was cut short.
Since then though Sadiq has impressed during stints at Italian side Perugia and Serbian outfit Partizan. He found the net 23 times in Belgrade last season and reports had suggested that Manchester United and Sevilla were keeping tabs.
This season the 24-year-old has been starring for UD Almería, where he has scored 17 goals in 32 appearances.
Spanish outlet AS claims this form has caught the eye of German champions Bayern Munich and it goes on to state that they could trigger a €60m transfer clause in his contract.
It is understood that this fee could rise to €80m should UD Almería land promotion to La Liga.
Former Gers midfielder Andy Halliday was shocked when he heard the link on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard last night.
He said:
"When Rangers signed him, Kenny Miller spoke to Joleon Lescott who said 'the boy Umar Sadiq is going to be a top, top player... he'll do really well for you.'
"I think he played one game, never settled in or played that well.
"If you told me he was going to go for €60m I'd have said, 'Come on now, stop trash talking me.'
"He wasn't a good player in training but I've played with hundreds of strikers specifically who are not good trainers and they just come alive when it comes to a game.
"So he could have been that type of player, but the fact of the matter is when you don't train well and the manager is watching you when you just come into a team, they are not going to pick you.
"So that'd be the most surprising transfer of all time. €60m? Bayern Munich? Aye it would be.
"I've heard he has done really well since he's left so fair play to him."

It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
