HIBERNIAN
OFIR MARCIANO 6
Not much he could do with Rangers’ two goals. Made a couple of smart stops to keep his team in the game.
PAUL MCGINN 5
A tough afternoon for the defender. Struggled to match the pace of the Rangers attack.
PAUL HANLON 6
Had a couple of headers from corners that went close to finding the back of the net. Defended well.
RYAN PORTEOUS 6
Enjoyed renewing his rivalry with Morelos. Fought well and was impressive when playing out from the back.
JOSH DOIG 7
Had a good battle with his opposite number Nathan Patterson. Got up and down the left flank throughout.
MARTIN BOYLE 7
His pace caused Rangers problems as he tried to get in behind at every opportunity. Booked for simulation in the first half.
JACKSON IRVINE 6
Always keen to get his foot on the ball and was strict positionally when on the back foot.
JOE NEWELL 7
Set piece deliveries a real plus point for Jack Ross’ team. Looks a talent with the ball at his feet too.
ALEX GOGIC 6
A typical battling performance in midfield but was poor in possession. Offered little when he had ownership of the ball.
CHRISTIAN DOIDGE 5
Frustrating afternoon for the striker as he struggled to hold the ball up.
KEVIN NISBET 8
Kept the Rangers defence busy throughout the 90 minutes. A fine header to grab a lifeline for the away side.
SUBS
CHRIS CADDEN (FOR DOIDGE, 65) 4
Got up and down the right flank when introduced in the wingback role.
KYLE MAGENNIS (FOR IRVINE, 80) 3
Battled well in the dying stages.
MELKER HALLBERG (FOR GOGIC, 83) 2
On too late to make an impact.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
