RANGERS

JON MCLAUGHLIN 6

Moved the ball out well from the back and claimed several Saints crosses. Never really tested with a save.

JAMES TAVERNIER 6

First start since February 18 and looked a bit off the pace. Defended well but was not his usual attacking threat.

CONNOR GOLDSON 6

Has been so consistent all season but wasn’t up to scratch at McDiarmid Park. Kane caused him problems.

JACK SIMPSON 5

Far from convincing on his Rangers debut. Looked shaky in possession and gave away the penalty late on.

BORNA BARISIC 5

Deliveries from set pieces were not up to his usual standards. Was camped inside his own half for much of the 90 minutes.

GLEN KAMARA 7

Rangers’ best player. On a tricky pitch the midfielder was tidy and composed in possession. Always looked for the forward pass.

STEVEN DAVIS 7

Great shift in the middle of the park. Kept the ball moving and picked up on plenty loose balls.

IANIS HAGI 6

Looked to get in behind at every opportunity after feeding his striking teammates.

SCOTT WRIGHT 6

Brilliant finish for the opener. Saw plenty of the ball otherwise but didn’t do a whole lot with it.

KEMAR ROOFE 6

Never had any clear sights of goal but linked up with his teammates well in the final third.

CEDRIC ITTEN 6

Held the ball up well and linked play in the final third. Formed a decent partnership with Roofe.

SUBS

NATHAN PATTERSON (FOR TAVERNIER, 62) 4

Was given a rest after a busy period but played his part from the bench.

SCOTT ARFIELD (FOR DAVIS, 69) 4

Had a late attempt on goal that was saved well by Clark.

JOE ARIBO (FOR WRIGHT, 69) 6

Changed the game when he came on. Injected energy into the Gers attack.

JERMAIN DEFOE (FOR HAGI, 78) 4

Kept the Perth defence busy late on.

CALVIN BASSEY (FOR BARISIC, 78) 4

On for a late defensive shift.
