St Mirren could lose out on millions after they were refused a licence to play in next season’s Uefa Europa and Conference League.

The Paisley club would secure European football for next term if they win this month's Scottish Cup.

If they were to win the tournament, the Buddies would find themselves in the final playoff of the second tier competition and have the back up of the third tier tournament until at least Christmas.

The Herald:

However, as first reported in The Scottish Sun they have not met the latest grading by the SFA to play football on the continent.

The club has said they will appeal the decision, but they will have to meet the strict governance and financial criteria of UEFA.

The report also states that officials of the club are locked in talks with those in charge at Hampden to try and resolve the situation.

Livingston, who could potentially still find themselves in the Conference League, have also been denied a place at this time.
