Jak Alnwick 6

Could do nothing for either goal. Fantastic reaction stop to deny Shaun Rooney at 2-0.

Marcus Fraser 6

Positioning a little suspect on occasion but didn’t do all that much wrong.

Joe Shaughnessy 6

Solid enough at the back. Too easily beaten for the Chris Kane’s crucial opener.

Conor McCarthy 7

Good distribution and kept things quiet in his area of the pitch. Pulled one back late on with a well-timed header.

Richard Tait 5

Covered a lot of ground as he drove forward but final ball was lacking on occasion.

Ilkay Durmus 7

Looked dangerous on the ball when driving forward and capable of delivering great crosses into the box, too.

Jake Doyle-Hayes 6

Sat at the base of the midfield and was a safe pair of hands in possession.

Jamie McGrath 7

Another encouraging performance from St Mirren’s star man. Neat footwork, an eye for a pass and it was his free-kick for McCarthy’s goal.

Ethan Erhahon 6

Yesterday marked the midfielder’s 20th birthday but chances are, it won’t be one he’ll recall fondly. Worked his socks off in the middle.

Kristian Dennis 6

Superb cross on the volley to his strike partner in the first half that really should have resulted in a goal. Unfortunate not to gain a penalty after his shot struck the arm of Jamie McCart.

Lee Erwin 5

Tidy on the ball but wasteful in front of goal.

Substitutes

Collin Quaner 3

(For Dennis, 57) Simply had to score from a few yards out, but somehow prodded it wide.

Dylan Connelly 4

(For Tait, 68) Provided a fresh pair of legs.

Eamonn Brophy 5

(For Erhahon, 77) Was inches away from curling in an equaliser late on.
