STEVEN GERRARD reckons Rangers 'stitched up' keeper Allan McGregor as they squandered two points at home to Hearts.
The champions looked set to extend their lead at the top of the Premiership after John Lundstram fired them into a first half lead at Ibrox.
But a late Craig Halkett header - as he capitalised on a howler from McGregor that saw him misjudge the flight of a corner - earned Robbie Neilson's side a share of the spoils.
Rangers spurned a plethora of chances before allowing Hearts back into the game and Gerrard was upset that another Premiership win had slipped through their grasps.
Gerrard told RangersTV: "I was frustrated by the outcome because I think we did enough to win the game.
"I don't know how many but we must have had over 20/25 chances to score goals today and we haven't been ruthless in the final third and we paid in the end.
"I thought Hearts grew into the second half but first half we were outstanding but you have to go and get the second and third goals.
"We created enough to get those goals but we weren't ruthless enough and we have paid for it.
"That first half performance will take us to where we want to get to but the second half I don't think we came up with the same intent, urgency.
"I thought we got a little bit soft as the game went on. The game is about both boxes, you have got to take your chances.
"At 1-0 we had four/five really top chances to go and kill that game.
"We haven't so we have almost stitched Greegsy up because the headlines will be Allan McGregor should have dealt with the cross.
"But I think we stitched him up today because we should have scored the second, the third and fourth goal to kill that game before that moment comes."
