NEW Rangers assistant Dave Vos was in the stands as Giovanni van Bronckhorst claimed his first league win as manager.
The former Ajax coach was confirmed to be joining the Ibrox backroom staff as No2 on Friday.
The 38-year-old spent ten years working at Ajax in various roles from youth coach and assistant at B Team Jong Ajax.
Vos was still on the touchline in Istanbul on Wednesday afternoon at Ajax's UEFA Youth League match against Besiktas. His side won 1-0, which forced a place for the knockout phase.
But he was in Livingston this afternoon for Rangers' 3-1 win at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
Vos was pictured alongside sporting director Ross Wilson in the stands ahead of the match. It's not known whether Vos was prevented from being in the dugout by the work permit process or whether it was a personal choice.
On Vos' appointment sporting director, Ross Wilson, commented: “In selecting all of the members our new coaching team, Gio and I wanted to ensure that we added someone who was obsessed with coaching and improving players and teams with elite-level work on the grass.
“Dave is a young but experienced coach who has a top reputation, respected throughout Europe for his work at Ajax across the last decade. This is the next step in his impressive career and we are delighted to welcome him to Rangers.”
Manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst added: “I am really happy that Dave will join our staff and I have a really good feeling of what he will bring to our group.
“He is a highly energetic and innovative coach and having him with us will be of benefit to everyone. Dave will help me and the other staff a lot to develop our players and our team.”
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
