ANGE POSTECOGLOU says that the decision by Rangers to pull out of the Sydney Super Cup has no bearing on Celtic, and he is still looking forward to the reception his team will receive in his homeland.

The Ibrox club withdrew from the friendly tournament this week following a backlash from their fans, citing branding complaints and issues over the timing of the initial announcement that they would be taking part.

When asked what he thought of Rangers not now joining Celtic in Australia in November, Postecoglou said: "Not a great deal.

"My understanding is that we are still going and that’s the important thing for me.

"I know how passionate people are for football on that side of the world, particularly when teams visits from over here. And I know the passion that exists for this football club.

"It’s still going to be a massive occasion. Obviously I’ve got my own selfish reasons for looking forward to it because it’s going back home for me.

"From our perspective, nothing really changes.

"They’ll want to see their team play. They could always hop on a plane and get over to Celtic Park and I know a few of them that will be doing that come the last fixture.

"I don’t think it’s going to take away from what I think is going to be a great response that the club is going to get.

"Obviously it’s my home so I kind of know the feeling everyone has for this football club so I still think it will make it a special occasion."
