RANGERS beat Aberdeen 4-0 in front of 4412 fans at Ibrox to stay on course for a first-ever SWPL 1 title. They remain five points clear of Glasgow City, who beat Hearts 2-0, with both sides now having just three games to play.

Aberdeen kept Rangers at bay for the opening half hour, but goals from Sam Kerr and Kayla McCoy gave the home side a two goal advantage at half time. A quick double early in the second half from Nicola Docherty and Lizzie Arnot hinted at the league leaders cutting loose, but there was no further scoring.

Glasgow City didn't find it easy against Hearts at Oriam but eventually took the lead three minutes from half time. Poor defending from the home side allowed Hayley Lauder to slide the ball home from close range.

A tremendous 30-yard effort from Priscila Chinchilla two minutes later nearly doubled the lead, but Hearts goalkeeper Charlotte Parker-Smith did well to tip the ball over the bar. The cushion City needed didn't arrive until eight minutes from time, with Lauder this time the provider and Peyton Perea smashing the ball into the net for her first goal since signing from North Carolina Courage in January.

The win keeps City eleven points ahead of Celtic, who beat Hamilton Accies 6-0 at New Douglas Park, and ensures Champions League football next season for Eileen Gleeson's team. Striker and top scorer Charlie Wellings got a hat-trick for Celtic.

Hibernian, who were knocked out of the Scottish Cup by Partick Thistle at the start of the month, returned to Petershill Park and beat the home side 2-0. Spartans stay in sixth despite losing 1-0 at home to a Motherwell side which had taken just one point from 24 in their previous eight games.
