HEARTS supporters today unveiled a spectacular Scottish Cup final flag display in tribute to legendary captain Marius Zaliukas.

The Tynecastle supporters transformed the section of seats behind the goal at Hampden into marron, white and gold.

The flag display spelled out the letters HMFC with a heart in the middle showing Zaliukas' number 26 in the centre.

Zaliukas, 36, tragically passed away on October 31, 2020 after battling motor neurone disease.

The central defender, from Lithuania, played more than 150 times for Hearts and was part of the 2012 Scottish Cup winning side which beat Hibs 5-1 in the final.

Later in his career, Zaliukas went on to play for Rangers after a stint at Leeds.

A Hearts statement after Zaliukas' passing - on a day Hearts beat Hibs in the Scottish Cup - read: "Everyone at Heart of Midlothian Football Club is devastated to learn of the passing of Scottish Cup winning captain Marius Zaliukas.

"A full tribute will follow, but for now we send our love to Marius' family and friends.

"That win was for you, skipper"
