Michael Beale insists there is no truth in the rumours linking Alfredo Morelos with a pre-contract switch to Sevilla.

The Rangers striker is free to discuss a move in the summer with his current deal to expire at the end of the season.

But, Beale has stated that there is nothing in speculation over a switch to the La Liga sie after a frank discussion with the striker over the rumours.

And the manager went on record as planning discussions with Morelos over his Ibrox future later this season.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Beale said: "At this moment in time we're focused on the games ahead, there's no truth in the reports of a contract with Seville."

He added: "I've spoken with Alfredo (Morelos) about the recent rumours and there is no truth in that.

"We will sit down and discuss his situation later in the season."

The Ibrox boss then went on to praise Morelos for his quality since his arrival as manager after question marks over the forward's performances.

Beale refuted any suggestion of any issues with the striker as he cited Morelos' goal contributions this season.

He said: "Since I have returned Alfredo has been fantastic, there have been no issues whatsoever and I think people sometimes try to force this.

"If you look at his goal involvement per game you can see his quality."

Asked if there is any news on new contracts for Rangers stars, Beale added: "There is no truth in any player signing a new contract."
