Liam Donnelly is set to re-join Kilmarnock.
The midfielder spent last season at the club after leaving Motherwell.
The Northern Ireland international made 27 appearances for Killie as he helped Derek McInnes' side secure their Premiership status in their first season back in the top flight.
He scored three goals during the 2022/23 campaign, notching once in the Viaplay Cup and twice in the league.
At the end of the campaign, the 27-year-old departed the Ayrshire club. He was offered a new contract but opted to explore other options at the time.
Now, Herald and Times Sport understands Donnelly and the club have agreed on terms that will see him return to Rugby Park after all with the new season on the horizon.
It's believed he will re-join on a two-year deal as he becomes the club's eleventh summer signing. Other Premiership sides were interested in the holding midfielder.
Will Dennis and Kieran O'Hara have been recruited between the sticks, with the backline almost totally overhauled.
Stuart Findlay, Robbie Deas, Corrie Ndaba, and Tom Davies have all arrived. Lewis Mayo's loan was also made permanent after Killie paid a six-figure fee to Rangers for his services.
Kyle Magennis has been brought in to add goals and attacking threat from midfield areas, and Matty Kennedy was signed earlier this summer following his departure from Aberdeen. Marley Watkins has also linked up with former boss McInnes too.

The manager has made no secret of his desire to draft in another striker to help sharpen Killie's potency at the top end of the pitch. Kyle Vassell, Innes Cameron, and Bobby Wales are the only recognised strikers in the first-team fold.
"I do feel that we’ve made some good signings and got good experience in the right areas," McInnes recently said. "We’re still short at centre-forward. We’re still trying to bring in maybe one more, plus a centre-forward, at the minute.
"Once we have more potency and threat at the top end of the pitch, I think we can be quite happy with the work that we’ve done."
Killie take on Rangers this Saturday on the opening day of the new season. The match will kick-off at 5.15pm, with Sky Sports showcasing the game live on TV.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
