GORDON: Back in between the sticks but little to do but one outstanding stop to deny Morelos with a header and then equal to a second attempt from the subsequent corner. (7)
LUSTIG: First name into the book after pulling back Jamie Murphy. Had one effort goalwards that loped wide of the target in the opening period. (7)
AJER: Ropey start to the game when he allowed Alfredo Morelos to roll him – much to the ire of Brendan Rodgers on the touchline. Recovered his composure as the game went on but suspicion that he goes to ground too readily. (6)
BOYATA: One slip five minutes in but quickly recovered his composure. Might have done better with a set piece when he seemed to have a free header in the box. (7)
TIERNEY: Ball into the box that Russell Martin failed to deal with as Callum McGregor turned the screw in the Ibrox side. Usual shift as he worked his way up and down the flank. (7)
FORREST: Low ball into Rogic to set up the opening goal but relatively quiet after that. Replaced by Patrick Roberts deep into the second period. (7)
ROGIC: Opened the scoring after twisting and turning and driving a low shot beyond Wes Foderingham. Replaced by Scott Sinclair on the hour mark but another good showing against the Ibrox side. (7)
BROWN: In the thick of it as always. Booked for a clash with Morelos after taking objection at a tackle from the striker on Kieran Tierney. Strolled through the game and rarely wasted a pass. (8)
NTCHAM: Netted Celtic’s second penalty of the day when he powered a ferocious drive into the bottom right-hand corner. Seemed to always find himself space to work in and, like Brown, always confortable in possession. (8)
MCGREGOR: Netted the second after retaining his composure to slot beyond the reach of Foderingham after Martin had rolled the ball into his path. One cracking run in the second period as that almost bore fruit before winning Celtic’s second penalty of the day. Underrated at times but valuable contribution to the afternoon. (8)
DEMBELE: Hit post six minutes in with a volley, a portent of what was to come. A menace throughout to the Rangers defence. Involved in the build-up to Rogic’s opener but gave the Ibrox backline a torrid afternoon. Netted an insouciant penalty with a delicate chip before being replaced to great acclaim by Griffiths with just over ten minutes to go. (9)
SINCLAIR: On at the hour mark as Celtic freshened things up. No real opportunity to make a significant impact. (5)
ROBERTS: On for Forrest and won Celtic’s second penalty of the day after being felled by Jason Holt. (6)
GRIFFITHS: On for the final ten minutes of regulation time but unable to get his name on the scoresheet. Had a bit of fun juggling with the ball as he went to take a corner in the final minutes. (5)
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
