Todd Cantwell had goosebumps watching Rangers before a move to Ibrox was ever a possibility.

The winger became Michael Beale's first signing this month as he agreed a long-term deal at Ibrox.

But Cantwell today revealed he has been backing Rangers for a while now having supported the club during the incredible Europa League run last season.

Under Giovanni van Bronckhorst, the Ibrox club made it all the way to the final of the competition having overcome clubs including Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.

However, the Ibrox side would cruelly miss out on achieving a historic triumph with a penalty shoot-out loss to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Cantwell was at Norwich during the Europa League run but has now revealed he was supporting the Euro exploits.

He said: "Before I had any idea I would be up here I was following and supporting the European journey, it was goosebumps to follow and you could see how massive the club was."

As he was unveiled to the media this afternoon, Cantwell added: "I'm aware of what I have signed up to, a massive club and with that comes massive pressure which I can't wait for.

"I have always been someone that wants to win and that is embedded in Rangers.

"Sometimes in life you need a fresh start. Norwich is a club I hold really close to my heart.

"When I spoke to Ross (Wilson) and the manager it was clear this was the club for me.

"The manager spoke in such detail about what he wanted from me. As a player, you want this clarity.

"Having a manager that believes in me and is building something is huge for me."
