Andy Robertson backs Celtic's Greg Taylor to shine for Scotland as he and Kieran Tierney miss out

Callum McGregor, John McGinn, Ryan Christie and Stuart Armstrong are all vying for a spot while Manchester United's Scott McTominay was recently forced to pull out through injury.

When everyone is firing on all cylinders, Jack - who has been brilliant for Gers so far this season - knows he's in for a scrap to play for his country.

But that will never put him off turning up to fight for his spot.

He said: "There's great quality throughout the squad, so it's tough.

"But you want to play for your country and I've said before that you want to come away and work hard.

"You want to show the manager you want to be here and play a part going forward."

Andy Robertson insists players are committed to Scotland despite raft of call-offs

"I would say [it is the best he's played in his career]. I've said before I'm playing with a good group of players at my club and that helps.

"We've got a very good staff at Rangers and everything's going well. I'm in a good place."

He added: "I've not had too many caps and it's one thing I'm passionate about.

"I'm passionate about being involved for my country, playing for my country and hopefully going forward we can achieve something."
