On the day when Rhona was laid to rest, I would like to send my condolences to her family and close friends. I was so saddened to hear that she had passed on.
Whenever I joined her - on the campaigning front; always working to protect the Scottish landscape so loved by Rhona and Tom - she was the most gracious lady one could wish to meet. The warmest smile and the warmest handshake.
I remember her banging away on a saucepan lid at a demo in Perth in 2012, having walked with us right through the town centre.
The following year, in the most bitter temperatures imaginable, and having been stuck for ages on the same train as I was to Inverness, she stood smiling and talking, while the rest of us stood with teeth chittering. She was so gentle and - again to use that word - gracious while talking to the policemen at the gate of where the SNP conference was being held, when they had to tell her that Alex Salmond wouldn't see her, and it was proposed to send her walking halfway round Inverness to hand a huge anti wind farm petition, signed by thousands across the world, to an underling.
I will never forget Rhona, and am so pleased to have known her, just a little. Rest in peace, with your beloved Tom, lovely lady

I am greatly saddened to hear the news of Rhona's passing. I have many happy memories of spending time with Tommy and Rhona and staying with them often in Gartocharn. Rhona was a wonderful character in her own right and always bright and cheery, and she made wonderful sones! Sadly I'll be in Ireland next week but she will be in my thoughts. The photo is of that wonderful day when Jimmie Macgregor and I, along with Rhona, unveiled Tommy's statue at Balmaha. A huge honour.
