The project aims to make available thousands of hours of folklore and folklife recordings made in Scotland over the past century.
To help achieve this, the public is invited to donate to a crowdfunding campaign. In return, donors can choose from rewards including limited song releases by Julie Fowlis and Chris Wright, short courses at Skye Gaelic college, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, and a year's National Trust for Scotland membership.
The Carrying Stream, Edinburgh Folk Club's annual tribute to the late folklorist, songwriter and poet Hamish Henderson, goes ahead from November 6-13.
Among the guests are singer-guitarist Martin Simpson, former Fairport Convention fiddler Dave Swarbrick, broadcaster Jimmie Macgregor, folklorist and Gaelic singer Margaret Bennett, and Irish singer Len Graham. Sheena Wellington gives the annual Hamish Henderson lecture and an evening is dedicated to Fife's traditional singing riches.
The Saramago Cafe at the Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow, is marking November 5, with a performance by Remember Remember. It is the first time main man Graeme Ronald has performed with a full band this year.
He will have support from Ela Orleans and a DJ set for Ronald's Rock Action label bosses, Mogwai.
