Honest Sam in return to city after 're-debut'

HONEST Sam And The Dealers, surfers of the late 1980s wave of new country music, are back in business.

The band, which took its name from a song by the legendary, ill-starred Elektra Records singer-songwriter Paul Siebel, reformed earlier this year, with singer-guitarist John Hinshelwood fronting a seven-piece comprising original members and a new rhythm section.

Their "re-debut" at the Berkeley Suite in Glasgow was so well received that they are returning to the venue on Wednesday, November 20.

Glasgow date for Click Clack

LEFTFIELD music promoter Click Clack Club has added a Glasgow date to the monthly series of concerts it runs in Edinburgh.

There will be a rare appearance at the west end of the M8 by Captain Beefheart celebrants Orange Claw Hammer at the Glad Cafe in Pollokshaws Road on November 13. Also appearing will be Herschel 36, the improv-electronica outlet for jazz keyboards-drums partnership Paul Harrison and Stu Brown, and hip-hop poet Texture.

Orange Claw Hammer will headline a different triple bill the next evening at Click Clack Club's regular capital home of Henry's Cellar Bar.
