St Andrew's Day

singer and storyteller Sheila Stewart and Orkney's musical twins Jennifer and Hazel Wrigley will help the Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh mark St Andrew's Day Weekend this Friday and Saturday.

The Wrigleys appear with storyteller David Campbell on Friday evening in a programme celebrating Orcadian poet George Mackay Brown.

On Saturday, Shelia Stewart and author and storyteller Jess Smith share memories of Stewart's late mother, Belle, the ballad singer and tradition bearer whose knowledge and store of traditional songs inspired generations of folk musicians on both sides of the Atlantic.

Also in the centre's programme during the day on Saturday are storytelling cook Mrs Mash and music, storytelling and interactive dance workshops.
