The Brunton Theatre in Musselburgh has announced a new series of its popular Tuesday lunchtime and Saturday afternoon classical concerts.

Pianist Susan Tomes opens the former on February 3 with a programme of Beethoven's A Flat Major Sonata opus 110, preceded by the composer's Bagatelles. Also appearing are The Hebrides Ensemble (March 3 and April 21) and the Maxwell String Quartet (April 7). The Saturday series features the Dunedin Consort's director, John Butt, giving a harpsichord recital (February 7) and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra's principle flautist, Alison Mitchell, with harpist Eleanor Johnston (April 4). thebrunton.co.uk
