Singer George Ezra has cancelled his performance at Glasgow's O2 Academy tomorrow night.

In a messsage released on Twitter, the Budapest singer said "I'm so absolutely gutted. So sorry guys x"

A picture of a typed up message said Ezra had woken up extremely ill and had been advised by a doctor not to "talk for the next few days let alone sing".

The 21-year-old had been scheduled to sing in Manchester this evening, and a further tweet confirmed the Glasgow show tomorrow night would also be cancelled.

Another tweet said that rescheduled show and refund information would be released on Tuesday at 10 am, though it was confirmed all tickets would remain valid for rescheduled shows.

A message tweeted by Ticketmaster said that the Budapest singer had also cancelled.

It said: "George Ezra will not be performing @MCR Apollo tonight & Glasgow O2 Academy 22/02. Keep hold of your tickets - more info released 24/02."

The English singer-songwriter, who had a hit last year with the song Blame it on Me, hit number one in the UK charts for his album Wanted on Voyage.

He is also nominated for four Brit Awards and is due to perform at this year's ceremony on Wednesday February 25.
