Jodie Kidd has been drafted in to replace Sally Bercow, the wife of the House of Commons Speaker, on Channel 4's high-risk winter sports show The Jump who pulled out after busting two ribs.

The 45-year-old took a tumble while skiing as the team of celebrities train in a number of different disciplines.

Kidd is now heading to Innsbruck in Austria to undergo intensive training with the other stars in time for the launch of the contest early next month.

Bercow's woes are the latest mishap to affect this series of the show which has already seen Strictly Come Dancing professional Ola Jordan withdraw due to a knee injury. She had to undergo surgery this week following an accident last month, with Chloe Madeley brought in as a substitute.

During the first series of the show which was screened last year, numerous contestants suffered injuries, among them Melinda Messenger who had to pull out as a result of concussion from a bobsleigh track incident.

Other famous faces still taking part include Mike Tindall, the husband of Zara Phillips, as well as Heather Mills, ex-JLS star JB Gill and Joey Essex.

Bercow, married to MP and Speaker John, has previously taken part in Celebrity Big Brother and had a Channel 5 series with Paddy Doherty.
