Child Genius, Channel 4, 9pm

The reality programme-cum-freak show which aims to track down and garland the country's brightest primary school kids returns for another five-part series. Twenty children aged between eight and 12 have been drafted in to participate though as usual it's the parents who are actually the scariest thing about it. Kicking things off tonight are the General Knowledge and Memory Recall rounds, and among the 20 prodigies are 11-year-old David, who came to the UK from China when he was five and bagged his first A Level a year ago, and home-schooled Ieysaa, who's also an international chess champion.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Film4, 9pm

Directed by Russian film-maker Timur Bekmambetov, who came to prominence a decade ago with his stylish vampire flicks Night Watch and Day Watch, this 2012 fantasy horror starts from the unlikely (but mouth-watering) premise outlined in the title: that as well as being the 16th president of the United States of America, Abraham Lincoln tracks down bloodsuckers. Top of his must-drive-a-stake-through-your-heart list is Marton Csokas (as Jack Barts, the vampire who kills Lincoln's mother) and, because you always need to have a Brit playing a baddie, Rufus Sewell as the plantation-owning vamp who feeds on slaves.
