Base explored

EDINBURGH Sculpture Workshop's new base, designed by architects Sutherland Hussey, is aimed at those interested in making and learning about contemporary sculpture. Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop will also use £3m from the Arts Funding Prize for Edinburgh to fund phase two of the new facility – the Creative Laboratories.

The laboratories and courtyard will be situated alongside the new building, providing workspace both indoors and outdoors.

There will also be a viewing area and café for visitors to see the work of the artists un comfort.

Treat in store

FIFE Contemporary Art & Craft has launched a new brand, treat, to encourage people to engage in art and craft. Treat will provide retail opportunities for work, as well as exhibitions and workshops.

A craft pop-up experience planned for November in association with Craft Scotland and the treat blog has been launched.

Dundee dates

THE Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design Masters Show 2012 will take place from August 18 to 26. The graduate work on display will include MSc Animation & Visualisation, Master of Design for Services, Master of Fine Art, MSc Forensic Art and MSc Medical Art.

Capital roadshow

The Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh will welcome Improbable's Devoted And Disgruntled Roadshow on July 28 and 29.

This free event is visiting 18 venues across the UK and aims to hold a nationwide conversation about theatre. The show uses Open Space technology, and participants can create and manage their own programme.

Alba for festival

BBC Alba will broadcast exclusive coverage of the HedCelt Festival on Thursday and Friday.

Niall Iain Macdonald will present coverage from the main stage at Lews Castle Green in Stornoway of acts including The Proclaimers and Kassidy.

Skerryvore and Admiral Fallow will also feature.
